On a cold Halloween night in 1963, six year old Michael Myers brutally murdered his 17-year-old sister, Judith. He was sentenced and locked away for 15 years. But on October 30, 1978, while being transferred for a court date, a 21-year-old Michael Myers steals a car and escapes Smith's Grove. He returns to his quiet hometown of Haddonfield, Illinois, where he looks for his next victims.
Jamie Lee Curtis is officially returning for Universal's new Halloween movie. Set four decades after the first movie, this new film will have Curtis reprise her role as Laurie Strode for a final showdown with Michael Myers. The movie, simply titled Halloween, will open in theaters on October 19, 2018. This new Halloween movie was announced last year, with Carpenter promising it'll go back to the series' roots and be made on a smaller budget like the 1978 original.
She's been back in the franchise before, but Jamie Lee Curtis is looking to have one final encounter with Michael Myers, returning as Laurie Strode for the new sequel to Halloween. "Same porch. Same clothes. Same issues. 40 years later. Headed back to Haddonfield one last time for Halloween. Release date 10/19/18." - Jamie Lee Curtis
